Leadership Labs

The MSIII (Juniors) class plans and conducts labs with assistance from the cadre, leading them to instruct the MSI (freshmen) and MSII (sophomore) classes on the various skills needed to become a tactical and proficient officer.

Physical Training (PT)

St.John's ROTC conducts three physical training sessions at St.John's out on DeSilva Field . Additionally, the program conducts two Army Physical Fitness Tests each semester. 

Field Training Exercise (FTX) 

Our FTX (Field Training Exercise), which is held over the course of a weekend during which cadets use skills previously learned during leadership labs such as Land Navigation and Troop Leading Procedures. This exercise helps our cadets build a sense of camaraderie, hone their leadership skills and strengthen their commitment to the military.

Combat Water Survival Assessment (CWSA)

The basics of battle water survival, including how to build a quick flotation device, are taught to cadets.  They gain self-assurance and learn how to survive in the water.  

The following prerequisites must be successfully navigated by cadets: A 3-meter drop into water, blind folded and carrying a mock M-16 rifle, Swim 15 meters in uniform, with gear while keeping a mock M-16 rifle out of the water. Execute submerged equipment removal techniques.

ROTC Engagement

ROTC offers a wide variety of clubs and activities to Cadets. Each of these organizations offers diverse opportunities and experiences that allow Cadets to pursue their interests. All clubs are run by Cadets, allowing the students to have primary input concerning their activities.
